About

Wesley Mission Queensland

Wesley Mission Queensland is a not for profit organisation that has been caring for Queenslanders for more than 100 years.  We provide vital community services and programs that support the elderly and seniors, youth and families, people living with a disability and people experiencing unemployment, disadvantage, homelessness and isolation.  In all that we do, we strive to empower those whose lives we touch through compassion, a commitment to justice and a desire to create an inclusive society for all.

Residential aged care

At our residential aged care communities, we focus on the small things, such as providing enjoyable dining experiences, homely touches, plenty of activities, and appropriate technology to enhance wellbeing and keep our residents active, engaged and connected. While quality of care is at the heart of everything we do, we also get to know our residents\' individual wants and needs and create communities in which they can have fun, celebrate life, play with children, hug pets and actively enjoy the pastimes they love.

Home and community care

Our home and community care services include in-home care such as personal, social, domestic and medical support; as well as allied health, day therapy, respite care and nursing care.  Our qualified team of nurses, tradespeople, volunteers and carers are not just hired on their ability to the job, but for their empathy, compassion and genuine interest in our clients.

Retirement living

Our retirement communities are full of vibrant, active, over 65s who are having the time of their lives. Free from the pressures of work, home maintenance and raising families, our retirees are surrounded by like-minded people who know and look after each other in environments that are more like resorts than retirement villages.

Therapy, respite and wellness

Whether in an aged care community, retirement village, supported accommodation, living independently at home, or caring for a loved one, everyone needs opportunities to think well, live well and stay well.  In response, we employ a dedicated team of health professional including physiotherapists, hydrotherapists, dieticians, podiatrists, speech and occupational therapists, art therapists, fitness professionals, counsellors and social workers to meet the varied health and wellbeing needs of our diverse clients.

An international research team led by Queen Mary University of London, UK, has developed a new method for predicting dementia with an over 80 per cent accuracy and up to nine years before diagnosis.
