mecwacare Simon Price Centre
Set in the tranquil suburb of Mont Albert North in Melbourne’s East, mecwacare Simon Price Centre provides a home-like environment and offers accommodation for 53 residents with single rooms and shared bathrooms, which have been recently renovated and are suitable for residents with mobility issues. Residents have easy access to public transport and the town centre which offers a range of shops and eateries.
The mecwacare Simon Price Centre provides:

The centre offers a separate dining room, large communal lounge and activities room. With two courtyard gardens, water features and seating areas for the residents and families to enjoy, the centre is ideal for BBQs and other family events.
mecwacare Simon Price Centre has a small kitchenette with a fridge, microwave and tea / coffee making facilities for residents to enjoy with their families. There is a large activities room which can also be used for family functions and a another large area designated for residents’ physiotherapy appointments and activities, and an on-site chapel with pews.
In-house activities such as gardening, cooking and sewing are offered each day and are structured to meet the needs of all residents. Throughout the year regular volunteers, entertainers, community church groups and individuals offer their skills and time to the residents and staff of mecwacareSimon Price Centre. A bus is available to transport residents locally and around Victoria for social outings.
Transition Care Program
mecwacare has an agreement to offer a Transition Care Program (TCP) at mecwacare Simon Price Centre, for older people following discharge from hospital. The TCP provides flexible care including nursing support, personal care, medical support and case management, for a transition period of up to 12 weeks, with possible extension to a maximum of 18 weeks. The TCP is a joint initiative with Eastern Health and the Victorian and Commonwealth Governments.
