Residential care: secure, compassionate assisted living
Whether the onset of health problems is gradual or sudden, if the need to seek assistance and comfort increases, RFBI Moonbi Masonic Village can provide an assisted lifestyle which includes round-the-clock nursing and medical care.
We are well aware that the decisions involved cause rising levels of concern both personally and for your loved ones. You will find us completely attuned to your needs, and dedicated to helping both you and your family adapt to the many changes ahead.
You can count on our compassionate and caring staff to listen to your needs in detail and provide the right options for you.
Farming life in a friendly secure community
Your new home at RFBI Moonbi Masonic Village nestles at the foot of the Moonbi Range, 20km north of Tamworth. It occupies land that was part of Moonby Station, and we continue this farming tradition with a hobby farm with sheep, chickens and working dogs for residents to enjoy and take part in as they like. The village is surrounded by expansive views of the magnificent countryside.
While not simply relaxing and enjoying your peaceful surroundings, you will find plenty to do at RFBI Moonbi Masonic Village. Our active social calendar includes regular outings to local pubs, clubs, cafés and gardens for meals and socialising. You can also enjoy craft days, poetry readings, church services, music appreciation, sing-alongs (with nibbles and beverages) and a weekly Happy Hour. You are also invited to take part in daily exercises, newspaper readings, as well as bingo, quizzes and BBQ lunches.
Our fashion parades are very popular — and are supported by Millers Fashions, who kindly offer clothing for sale on the day at reduced prices — your chance to snap up a bargain or two. We are also lucky enough to be entertained by guest artists during Tamworth's Country Music Week and to enjoy special-occasion parties.
To help you get out and about, RFBI Moonbi Masonic Village has two buses which are available for outings. The larger one is wheelchair accessible. The Kootingal Bowling Club is a popular destination for the Chinese Restaurant, plus year round entertainment including bingo and lawn bowls.
Everything you need is right here
There are three wings at RFBI Moonbi Masonic Village.
Moonby House has 34 single rooms with en-suites fitted with sensor lights. Two larger specialised bedrooms are available for those with extra needs. Jim Holm Hostel has 23 single rooms, covering both low and high care. The Mari Ma wing is a secure 30-bed memory support unit for residents living with dementia.
All bedrooms have an electric bed, with bed movement sensors and reverse-cycle air conditioning to ensure your year-round comfort.
Our secure outdoor area enables you to relax in our beautiful, fully landscaped garden, with its beautiful fragrant roses and other delightful blossoms.
Our spacious combined lounge/dining room and sitting rooms are located in each wing. You and your family are invited to enjoy private dining in the smaller area; it comes with its own kitchenette so you can prepare your own meals.
The village also offers the services of an on-site laundry, complete with convenient clothes labelling service. All common areas have reverse cycle air-conditioning to keep them cool or warm according to the seasons.
All catering is all on site, with main meals served in the large dining room. Our menus are changed seasonally and we welcome your ideas and requests. Your visitors can order a meal for a minimal charge — and there is an area set aside for you and your family to share meals together.
For your convenience and enjoyment, we have a hydro spa-bath, a hairdressing salon and regularly visiting hairdresser. There is also an on-site coffee shop, with indoor and outdoor seating.
