Goodwin Aged Care Services raises over $63,000 for Dementia Australia at 2025 Memory Walk & Jog
Goodwin Aged Care Services has raised an impressive $63,000-plus for Dementia Australia through the 2025 Memory Walk & Jog, with all funds supporting crucial research, support services, and advocacy for those affected by dementia.
CEO Stephen Holmes expressed his pride, saying, "Raising over $63,000 for Dementia Australia reflects our collective commitment to making a real difference in the lives of people impacted by dementia."
This year, Goodwin introduced the "Suburb Showdown" – a friendly competition between its locations, designed to build a sense of community and shared purpose. The event saw tremendous local support from cafes, health clubs, hotels, and community members.
Before the big walk, all Goodwin Villages participated in a "Team Goodwin Practice Walk," where residents and staff joined together to get ready for the event. This initiative sparked ten different teams to get involved, leading to a fierce but fun competition.
Top fundraisers included Team Goodwin Corporate & Friends, who raised $17,212, followed by Team Goodwin Farrer at $16,875, and Team Goodwin Ainslie with $10,285. The bulk of the donations came from individuals, highlighting the strong community spirit for the cause.
Goodwin will present a cheque for over $63,000 to Dementia Australia during an official event on March 27. “The support has been incredible, and donations are still rolling in,” said Elna Jennings, General Manager of Marketing and Communications at Goodwin. "It’s community engagement at its best."
